Josh taking care of the yard

Last night Josh mowed the lawn for the first time with our Neuton electric lawn mower. No gasoline or oil required. This lawn mower produces no CO2 emissions, is very quiet, and is easier on the allergies. So with the lawn mower, the gradual process of changing out our lightbulbs, and using cloth diapers maybe we can balance out our SUV. Can you tell we're both addicted to the new Planet Green channel?

Good for you guys! I've been trying to do a few things here and there to be a little more "green" lately too :)

Cool! I've seen those... when our old mower breaks, we'll probably get something like it. We used an old reel mower last year, but it was in bad need of sharpening!

One thing that is good to is to not use any chemicals on your lawn. I can't understand why people treat their lawns with such harsh chemicals. We have a little pond in a beautiful park close by that has a horrible algae bloom all the time because of all the chemical runoff from people's lawns.

It's so frustrating! I think everyone should just agree to have stubbly little weed yards, or better yet prairie grasses and wildflowers.

Anyway, I love the topic... I could use a lot more work in this area!!!!!!! A LOT!

My sister is Uber-Crunchy:) Love the new mower. Our yard is about the size of what you can see in the picture of Josh, maybe smaller. Some people actually just "mow" with a weed eater.

Okay, I just got to see the mower in real life, it is the cutest piece of machinery I've ever seen. It made me want to buy a house just so I could have a reason to get a cute mower. I've felt really bad about not recycling at my apt. since they added a recycling center. I checked it out when I went to work out and when I get home I'm going to start using it, especially because I won't have to take out the trash as often.... I need to get more little trash cans to keep under my sink to sort and separate.
