Lea's family came to visit last week and we all had such a good time together. We were sad to see them go. Grandma Debbie, Aunt Dre, and Cousin Olivia were constantly fighting over who was going to hold Hayden next. Hayden cuddling with Grandma Debbie Aunt Dre feeding Hayden. She also helped Lea give Hayden a bath. She's much faster at it than Lea, but she has a lot more experience. Olivia cuddling with Hayden. Olivia just loved Hayden and was always checking up on him and singing to him. She'll make a good mom someday.
Papa and Vian came to visit Hayden for several days. We had such a good time and they were so much help to us. Charlotte just had to be in the picture! Papa feeding Hayden I love my Papa Joel! Hayden trying to get out a good burp for Vian Watch out Vian!! Hayden is really watching his Papa
"Oh how I wish I could get more attention". Poor Charlotte feels a little left out. We try to give her as much attention as possible in these early weeks with Hayden. Mommy reading Mama and Me to Hayden. While Mommy went out to the store, Daddy put a big diaper on Hayden. It looks so cute though!
I couldn't wait for Josh to open his gift from Hayden this morning. Hayden got Daddy the game Risk, one of Daddy's favorites. It'll be a while before they can play together, but until that time comes, then Hayden will just watch Daddy play while sitting on his lap! Reading his cards from Hayden and me.
Yesterday was such a busy day for us. We went to the Doctor, ran errands, and visited Josh's office to show off the baby. I was ready to take a nap when we got home, but then remembered we needed to make one more stop. Yesterday was very tiring for Josh and Hayden. Charlotte took full advantage of being able to cuddle next to Daddy. Connie, one of the secretaries at Josh's office gave us this boppy and made this special slipcover for it. It feels so soft against my arms when I'm feeding or just holding Hayden.
Hayden had his first check-up today and he gained an oz. and 1/4 from yesterday. The doctor said his circumcision has healed beautifully and his cord will fall off any day now. He also grew one inch! Wow! So our appointment we did have on Wednesday was replaced by this one. They want to do another weight check on Friday.
So yesterday everytime I fed him I was super concerned about getting a perfect latch so I would break the seal and try to get him on probably at least 4 or 5 times at each feeding. Well, I think I damaged my nipple (sorry if that's too much information) and they were extremely painful when I woke up. I don't want to not breastfeed and skip a session because I'm in pain so after the appointment we went and got a pump so I could use that milk at some feedings to let them heal a little bit. The second time I used the pump today some blood started getting in the bottle and turned out that my nipple had cracked all the way around and was bleeding. I've used lansinoh after every feeding since the hospital, but hopefully giving them a little bit of a break will help. It's been a rough couple of days. The good part is that Hayden is sleeping much better at night and only waking for feedings. He is a very good baby.
